The Clayton Rugby Football Club is heading into a busy stretch of the year with a packed calendar full of rugby action, community events, and club gatherings. Whether you’re a player, supporter, or part of the local community, there’s something for everyone coming up this summer.
The fun kicks off on July 12 when the Bootleggers head north to play in the Christmas in July 7s tournament in Richmond. Our Bootleggers are planning to bring some mid-summer cheer to the pitch. Just a week later, the club is hosting a FREE Youth Rugby Clinic on July 26, continuing its commitment to growing the game and developing the next generation of players. Children ages 4-12 are encouraged to give rugby a try with some of our Wombats players.
On July 25, golfers and supporters will hit the greens for the 2nd Annual Scrum’N Scramble Golf Tournament, one of the club’s most popular fundraisers. Two days later, on July 27, the men’s team is holding a Pre-Season Meeting to set the tone for the 2025/2026 campaign.
The off-field fun continues into August with a Club Beach Day on August 2, with the club heading to Atlantic Beach to give players and families a chance to relax before pre-season kicks off. Men’s Pre-Season Training then officially begins on August 5, as the Bootleggers prepare for an exciting and competitive new season.
The summer schedule wraps up on August 23 teaming up with Wilson’s Mills on their Community Day. The club is hosting another FREE Youth Rugby Clinic at the event offering a fun-filled day for families and newcomers to get involved with the club and the sport of rugby.
With events spanning social gatherings, youth development, competitive prep, and community outreach, Clayton RFC is showing just how active and inclusive a rugby club can be. Stay connected and get involved—there’s never been a better time to be part of the Bootlegger family!
