At the conclusion of each XVs season, the Clayton Rugby Football Club announces their Award Winners at the annual club banquet. These awards are awarded to the players and/or members that have contributed both on and off the pitch to make the club successful. These awards may be voted upon by the playing members of the club, appointed by our coaching staff, or named by our Board of Directors.
Awards include, but are not limited to the following categories:
DAVIES AWARD – The highest honor awarded to a member of our club. Named after Philip “Paddy O” Davies, it is the award given to the Club Member that truly goes above and beyond in service to the Clayton Rugby Football Club.
1ST XV MOST VALUABLE FORWARD – The individual who, while playing in the forward pack, contributed the most to the successful play of rugby, not only in the games but in practice.
1ST XV MOST VALUABLE BACK – The individual who, while playing in the backs, contributed the most to the successful play of rugby, not only in the games but in practice.
2ND XV MOST VALUABLE PLAYER – The individual who, while playing for the club’s 2nd XV, contributed the most to the successful play of rugby, not only in the games but in practice.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR – The individual who, brand new to senior level rugby, contributed the most to the successful play of rugby, not only in games but in practice.
COACHES AWARD – Given annually by the coach to the player who best demonstrates, throughout the season, the true spirit of Clayton Rugby.
Ongoing dedication to the Clayton Rugby Football Club is recognized through our longevity milestones. Our club currently recognizes players that have appeared in at least fifty games for the Bootleggers whether that is for the club’s 1st XV, 2nd XV, and/or Old Boys teams.
Club Service milestones are also celebrated for volunteers with at least 5 years of service to the club.
