CLAYTON, North Carolina – The Clayton Rugby Football Club has released our Spring 2023 schedule that includes a total of six matches. Our Men’s 1st XV is coming off a fall season where they finished 1-3 in league play. Despite their record, the club was competitive in all but one match. With a home-heavy spring schedule, the Bootleggers aim to finish the season with a strong spring. The Bootleggers open up the second half of their season with their annual winter kickoff friendly against neighbors the Raleigh RFC. They follow with a home tilt against Triad before heading to play at the Savannah St. Patrick’s Day tournament. The Bootleggers will be playing in the social division, while the Clayton Old Boys are combining forces with Southern Pines Old Boys to form a Carolinas Old Boys side.
Upon returning from Savannah, the Bootleggers take on Tobacco Road B on the road then follow with home dates against Southern Pines and Charlotte B to close out the season.
