The Clayton Rugby Football Club is excited to unveil the coaching and leadership team that will guide our men’s sides through the upcoming 2025/2026 season. This year’s group brings a blend of experience, passion, and dedication that will set the tone for a successful campaign both on and off the pitch.
Men’s Captain – Eric “Tank” Hile
One of the Original Bootleggers and staunch supporter of the club, Tank has over 14 years of rugby experience, competing with and against high-level teams across the country, as well as on the international stage. Known for his commitment to the sport and the camaraderie it fosters, Tank’s leadership will be instrumental in driving the team toward a successful season and the squad’s goal to earn promotion to Division 3.
XVs Forwards Captain – Christian Copp
Christian returns to the pitch as our Forward Captain after earning the Coaches’ Award last season. A powerful and dynamic presence, he brings knowledge gained from playing with a variety of top-level teams and under excellent coaches. His determination and competitive edge will push our pack to dominate in every contest.
XVs Backs Captain & Backs Coach – Ben Roach
With over 16 years of rugby experience, including international professional play and involvement with the USA Rugby Olympic Development programs, Ben brings a wealth of knowledge to the backs. Dusting off the boots to join the coaching staff, Ben will not only lead on the pitch but also guide the backs in developing their skills and executing a fast, tactical game plan.
Men’s Head Coach – Walter Webster
A longtime member of CRFC, Walter has grown as both a player and a leader during his years with the club. His understanding of the game, paired with his ability to teach and motivate, makes him the perfect choice to lead the squad this season. We are excited to see his vision for the team come to life.
With this leadership group at the helm, Clayton RFC is ready to make the 2025/2026 season one to remember. The club is coming off a strong summer of recruiting and they have booked a challenging schedule. We can’t wait to see our men take the pitch and represent the club with pride, passion, and relentless effort.
