The Clayton RFC is hosting a Charity Old Boys match on Saturday April 26, 2025 to benefit Jeff Barley. A true “clubman” Barley has been an active member with the club since 2018. Outside of playing, Barley has served in multiple roles within the club including Facility Chair, on the Board of Directors in the President Ex-Oficio position, playing Santa Claus for our Toys for Tots drives, and as a coach for our youth program. He could always be counted on whenever the club needed help.
He was recently admitted to Duke University Hospital with heart failure and is now waiting for a heart transplant.
At the event on April 26, 2025 we will have gift raffles, a 50/50 draw and merchandise for sale at the event with all proceeds going to help with Barley’s medical expenses.
Along with the Charity Match, the Town of Wilson’s Mills is having their 2nd Annual Food Truck Rodeo at the park that day.
Grab some food, come watch the rugby, and support a great cause!
Area Old Boy ruggers are welcome to jump in on the action. The Clayton RFC Old Boys are taking on the Southern Pines Old Boys at 1:00pm. Extra players are always a welcome sight! If we have enough guys, we may split and play a second match so that everyone gets plenty of playing time.
A t-shirt fundraiser has also been set up to help raise funds for Barley. Follow the link below to purchase a Barley 2.0 t-shirt.
