Super Bowl Square Fundraiser

Clayton RFC Super Bowl Square Fundraiser

$20 per square • $1,000 total payouts • Supports the Clayton RFC

UPDATE: The Squares are SOLD OUT for 2026!

The Clayton Rugby Football Club is excited to launch the Clayton RFC Super Bowl Squares Fundraiser. This fundraiser is a fun, easy way for our supporters to get involved with the biggest non-rugby game of the year while directly investing in the growth of rugby right here in Johnston County. Whether you’re a diehard football fan, a passionate rugby supporter, or someone who just enjoys a good community fundraiser, Super Bowl Squares are a simple way to have a little fun and make a real difference.

What Are Super Bowl Squares?

Super Bowl Squares (sometimes called football squares) are a classic game-day fundraiser. A 10×10 grid is made up of 100 squares, and supporters can purchase one or more squares for a set price. On game day, winners are determined based on the last digits of each team’s score at the end of each quarter.

It’s simple, fast-paced, and keeps everyone engaged from kickoff through the final whistle, because every quarter has a chance to win.

For Clayton RFC’s board, squares are $20 each. Once the board is full we will use a randomizer to assign someone to each square in the grid. The numbers 0-9 will be assigned across the top and side of the grid each representing the AFC or NFC team in the Super Bowl. Those numbers correspond to the last digits of the game score at the end of each quarter and determine the winning square each quarter.

Ex. Chiefs 17 Eagles 10 (The winning square is 7,0)

Payouts

1st Quarter: $100

2nd Quarter: $200

3rd Quarter: $300

4th Quarter/Final: $400

Why Fundraisers Like This Matter

The Clayton RFC is a community-oriented 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which means we rely heavily on memberships, sponsors, and grassroots fundraising to operate and grow. We don’t have big budgets behind us. What we do have is a dedicated family of players, families, alumni, volunteers, and supporters who believe in what this club represents.

Events like Super Bowl Squares might seem small on the surface, but they make a big difference. Fundraisers like this help cover real costs and support ongoing growth without placing additional burden on our volunteers or families. They allow us to improve our park, expand opportunities for new players, and keep rugby accessible to more people across the region.

When you claim a square, you’re not just buying into a football game, you’re investing in something bigger: community sport, health and wellness, youth development, lifelong friendships, and the future of rugby in Johnston County.

FAQ

How do I get a square?

Squares can be claimed through the link on our fundraiser page (see the button at the top of this page). Once you submit payment, your square will be officially reserved.

When are the squares assigned?

The squares are randomly assigned only after the board is full. The digits 0–9 will be drawn and placed along the top and side of the grid each representing the AFC/NFC representative. We will post the final numbered board publicly before the Super Bowl.

How are winners determined?

At the end of each quarter, we look at the last digit of each team’s score.
Example: If the score is AFC 17 NFC 10, the winning square is 7 (one team) and 0 (other team).

How will winners be announced?

Winners will be announced on Clayton RFC social media at the end of each quarter and will also be posted on the fundraiser page after the game. We will also contact the winners directly to arrange payments.

How do winners get paid?

Winners will be paid promptly through the payment method of their choice (Venmo, PayPal, etc.), or another agreed option.

Where does the money go?

All proceeds support Clayton RFC, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and go directly toward ongoing improvements at the Johnston County Rugby Park, helping us continue to grow grassroots rugby in Johnston County and beyond.

Can I buy more than one square?

Yes! You can claim as many squares as you’d like while they’re available. The more squares that you have, the better your chances are of winning!

What if the board doesn't fill?

If the board does not fill by our deadline, Clayton RFC may:

  1. Extend the claiming window,

  2. Reduce the payout structure proportionally to maintain a 50/50 split, or

  3. Refund payments.
(We’ll clearly communicate the plan if that situation arises.)
