Hardy founded the Clayton Rugby Football Club in 2013. Since then, Ted has served as Club President and helped grow the club to where it is now. Ted won the club’s Most Valuable Forward award in 2015/2016, the club’s Davies’ Award recipient in 2017/2018, and he is the club’s all-time leader in games played. 

Hardy began his rugby career with the Akron Rugby Football Club in Ohio and went on to appear in over 150 matches for the club. He helped the club to four Midwest Eastern Division Championships, five trips to the Midwest playoffs, and one trip to the Midwest Final 4. Ted won the club’s Most Valuable Forward award twice (2007 & 2008), and the club’s Man of the Year award in 2009. Ted has also served on the Board of Directors for the Carolinas Geographic Rugby Union, including as the President during 2018/2019.
