Youth Rugby is exploding in the area! With rugby returning to the Olympics in 2016 and the growth in exposure for the sport in America, so many kids are getting the opportunity to play the sport and reap the many positive benefits of rugby. There are multiple youth programs throughout the Triangle that offer programs for kids of all ages.
The Clayton Rugby Football Club has joined efforts with the Town of Wilson’s Mills to offer the first in-house rugby program in the area. The program kicks off in April with a 10-week season. All practices and games will take place at the new Johnston County Rugby Park located in Wilson’s Mills. The program is open to boys and girls throughout Johnston County.
The Clayton RFC also offers a Fall flag rugby program, provides rugby outreach to local schools, and rugby tackling clinics to football programs in the area.
